OCONOMOWOC — The dream of opening a dog park in Roosevelt Park is getting much closer to reality as the planners are only $10,000 away from their fundraising goal of $115,000.
Alderwoman Jennifer Aultman Kloth, who is helping with the effort, said the hope is to have the 16-acre dog park open this summer. The plans have already been approved by the city, which calls for a 1.6-acre small dog area and a 14.7-acre large dog area with a water pad at 101 Forest St.
Recently, Pagenkopf Family Pet Cremation Services donated $5,000 for the purchase of “poop bag stations” for Toto’s Territory. The business also has committed to an ongoing donation of $1,000 per year for bags and maintenance of the stations, which will be purchased from Sussex-based Prestwick Limited.
