Kennel Club Dog Show returns this weekend

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Those that love dogs may want to head over to the Fairgrounds this weekend.

The Fort St. Clair Kennel Club is hosting its annual dog show on April 6 and 7.

Over 750 dogs are registered for the event with over 150 breeds in attendance. Judges will be judging each breed against the standard throughout the weekend.

The event is free and open to the public.

Club President and Show Chair Larkin Vonalt says all dog-lovers are welcome.

“If you’re interested in dog shows on television, because there are quite a few now, this is a great chance to come out and meet some dogs,” Vonalt said. “And there are many people who let you pet their dogs, and visit with them and so forth. We really are a friendly group of people, so if you love dogs, this is a great place to spend on of your days this weekend.”

The dog show is happening at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds at 645 Infirmary Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Organizers ask that spectators do not bring their own dogs to the event, as dogs that are showing have been pre-registered.
