Whether or not a place is friendly toward man’s best friend can be a huge factor in where people choose to live, or even vacation.
Fortunately for people living in or visiting this one city in Pennsylvania, it’s just been ranked among the most dog-friendly places around.
SIXT — a car rental company that seeks to “create experiences that delight our customers by exceeding their expectations and making mobility more convenient, sustainable and exciting,” according to their “Products & Strategy” page — conducted and published a study called “The Best U.S. Cities for Traveling with Your Dog.”
This study was based upon the analysis of sites such as Booking Holdings, BringFido.com, and Google Maps against general dog-friendliness metrics of 100 cities in the United States such as “the number of dog-friendly restaurants” and “hotels that allow pets.”
Pittsburgh cracked the top 15 in the 13th overall spot. Alas, Philadelphia — the only other Pennsylvania-based city mentioned — ranked way at the bottom in the 96th.
The top three cities were Richmond, Va., in third; Tampa, Fla., in second; and Orlando, Fla., in first.
“…Orlando is the best destination in the U.S. to travel with your dog!” reaffirms the study. “With 334 dog-friendly restaurants, you and your pooch can sit back and enjoy much-needed fuel after spending a day in one of Orlando’s 15 dog parks.
“With 535 dog-friendly hotels (the second most of all destinations analyzed), you and your four-legged friend can rest well after a day of adventure together.”
