Pets of the week: Chance gets excited to take walks. Robin loves treats

JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are two of them.

Chance is looking for his chance to become part of your home. He’s a 2-year-old American Staffordshire mix who came in as a stray.

Chance is housetrained, knows some basic commands and is very treat motivated. He’s also totally excited when he gets to come out of his kennel.

Chance will love walking with you or playing with a canine friend. Come check out his cute nose freckles and amber-colored eyes.

Snacks? Did someone say snacks? Robin is all about treats and jumping up to greet guests.

She’s a 7-year-old tiger, who came in as a stray, and she’s not a typical tiger. Robin has some unique black coloring on her back.

Robin gets along with other cats, has a calm demeanor and a loving heart. Come meet this green eyed girl today.

Dog adoptions require an application, online. A meet-and-greet with a dog also is mandatory. A cat room walk-through is available to test reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchip and sterilization.

Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccinations and spay/neutering.

The shelter’s current hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
