Pets of the week: Pooh Bear and Midnight are a package deal. Cadbury comes for a treat

JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.

Here are three of them.

This pair of bonded pups are like a husband and wife. They adore each other and they are the sweetest couple.  Pooh Bear is the blonde Pomeranian and is 2-years-old.  Midnight is the black American Staffordshire mix and is also 2-years-old.

Pooh Bear and Midnight were surrendered by their owner who had very nice things to say about them.  They are both house trained, crate trained and gentle. Midnight will react to aggression. She can talk and says Mama, out, num num and I love you. They both are peanut butter lovers.

Little Mr. Pooh Bear is a love bug, he likes to be held or carried and enjoys playing with his squeaky toys. These two adorable pups will be adopted together.

Cadbury has just turned 1-year-old and looks like a big kitten. Cadbury was surrendered by his owner due to health issues.

This handsome black and grey tabby has bold striping with a big M on his forehead. Cadbury comes for treats and he gets along with the other cats where he is housed.

Dog adoptions require an application, online. A meet-and-greet with a dog also is mandatory. A cat room walk-through is available to test reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchip and sterilization.

Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccinations and spay/neutering.

Visiting the shelter is always best, but other adoption resources include online applications at https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animals, faxing 517-780-4750 or emailing animalshelter@mijackson.org.

The shelter’s current hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
