London-based pet product company BARK has come up with a solution for dog owners who find it difficult to take flights with their dogs, especially when the size of the dog is too big to fit in a carriage underneath the seat. Called BARK Air, this service will let dog owners travel comfortably with their dogs on chartered flights.

The service, launched in partnership with chartered jet companies, comes at a premium price, as a one-way flight from New York City to London could cost up to $8000. According to the brand’s website, the service will launch on May 23, 2024, with flights between NYC and LA. A week later, flights between London and NYC will also start. The tickets are priced between $6,000 to $8,000.

What Are The Features?

From booking to arrival, to in-flight services and disembarkation, dogs will be the VIPs and treated to luxury, according to the website of the service. The dogs can sip on ‘dog champagne’ – which is actually just chicken broth – on board. They will also be provided with ‘pheromone-scented’ blankets. As dogs are particularly sensitive to sounds, there will also be noise cancelling ear muffs available for them .

How To Book Tickets?

The tickets can be booked from the official website of BARK Air. There is section called ‘Bookings’ on the home page. Clicking on that will let users chose the route, dates and the number of tickets. After that, the website will find the available flight options against the selected details. Select the flight, pay the fare and the booking will be completed! After that, Bark Air will contact the dog owner to find out details about the dog so that the flight experience can be curated accordingly.
