REÁL MESA enters brick-and-mortar retail

NASHVILLE, TENN. — REÁL MESA™, a pet food brand seeking to bring authentic Mediterranean foods to pets’ bowls, recently announced its first foray into brick-and-mortar retail. The brand’s pet food products are now available at Blain’s Farm & Fleet locations throughout the Midwest.

REÁL MESA made its debut in September 2023 under the guidance of Chef José Andrés, aiming to “change the way dogs experience food” through Mediterranean-inspired formulas. The brand then launched its products in the direct-to-consumer (DTC) market in October, which have since gained popularity, according to the company.

“Pets of America, you deserve delicious meals, too,” Andrés said. “Dogs give us so much love. It is only fair that we give them the best food we can with the quality of ingredients and care we would give anyone in our family.”

Through its launch in brick-and-mortar retail, REÁL MESA is expanding its reach into the family-owned retail chain, providing pet parents in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin with access to its products.

REÁL MESA’s current offerings include complete-and-balanced meals and treats for dogs, all of which are formulated with real meat and a proprietary blend of fruits, vegetables and herbs. Complete-and-balanced recipes include Mediterranean Chicken & Rice Entrée, Wild Caught Salmon Feast, Lamb & Tomato Stew, and Puppy Chicken & Vegetable Asado. According to the brand, its foods and treats are suitable for dogs of all life-stages.

All of REÁL MESA’s products are made in the United States. Complete-and-balanced foods are available in 4.5-, 10-, 18- and 26-lb bags.
