ConcernedApe teased a new feature for Stardew Valley‘s 1.6 update.
In a recent tweet from Eric Barone, (also known as ConcernedApe), the developer revealed a cute new feature for the highly anticipated Stardew Valley update — the ability for gamers to put hats on their farm pets. Although hats already existed in-game to customize characters, the ability to put one on your farm’s cat or dog is a small but endearing new feature to be excited about.
What’s Coming to Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley‘s 1.6 update has been highly anticipated by fans for a long time, with the developer releasing more details earlier this month. The update is full of exciting developments, including more dialogue, more endings for late game players, new festivals, and new items among other things. Barone is also working on another game fans are eager to try, the upcoming combat-focused Haunted Chocolatier. His tweet did not specify which title the accessorized animals were associated with, but given that some of the visuals (such as the fashion hat) are the same as the farming game, it’s safe to assume this is a Stardew Valley update and not for Haunted Chocolatier. That being said, the recent feature reveal has fans buzzing about the potential it may hold.
Although many avid fans of Stardew Valley have embraced the nature of mods across various game features, the ability to dress up their pet is a simple yet sweet touch that is made more convenient by adding it to the 1.6 patch. The previous Stardew Valley update was in December 2020. Despite the fact that the game has become wildly popular and is now considered one of the best cozy games on the market, Barone is still dedicated to giving the fans quality over quantity. He announced Haunted Chocolatier in Oct. 2021 and kept fans updated every so often on the game’s blog — but made sure to let players know that Haunted Chocolatier is on pause until Stardew Valley 1.6 is released to ensure each game receives his undivided attention.
Although neither the 1.6 patch nor Haunted Chocolatier has an official release date, the surprise teasers from ConcernedApe certainly helped maintain the hype and remind fans why they remain loyal to the game.
