Moved by the dog’s pitiful state and the utter despair in its eyes, Pia knew she could not simply walk by. She felt a deep responsibility to intervene and provide the care and compassion that the dog desperately needed. Acting on her instincts, Pia approached the dog gently, offering soothing words and a gentle touch, trying to reassure the scared animal that help was at hand.

Understanding the situation’s urgency, Pia immediately contacted a local animal rescue organization to secure the professional medical attention the dog required. She stayed by the dog’s side, comforting it until help arrived. Her swift and decisive actions that day saved the dog from further suffering and set it on a path toward recovery and, hopefully, a better life. The dog was in such a weak state that his survival through the night seemed unlikely. As Pia carried the motionless dog to the vet, tears streamed down her face. By this time, the harshness of abandonment had deeply affected the dog’s spirit. He was unresponsive to treatment, and his vacant gaze reflected utter despair.

Despite this, Pia refused to lose hope. For the next 48 hours, she remained at the dog’s bedside, coaxing him to eat and drink, urging him to hold on to life with all her strength. Her persistent efforts bore fruit on Christmas Day when, miraculously, the dog began to show a renewed will to live!

 

Pia decided she would never give up Hercules. Hercules’ fur has recovered, and he now spends his days being the happiest dog with his mom Pia, thanks to Pia’s love and belief. We applaud Pia’s dedication and faith that allowed Hercules to emerge as a remarkable survivor!
