For the past few weeks, “Pet Talk” has focused on issues regarding stray cats and community responsibility, rules and regulations, and the role of volunteers who assist. “Thatcher and Bear” were trapped last August by Street Cat Angels, a non-profit group who liaise with Animal Control and area shelters.
These two sisters had health problems, including injuries, but they survived, after going to Wachusett Animal Hospital Emergency Room. “I prayed for a great outcome as they have not had a great start at life,” wrote Judy McDonald Reardon of SCA.
Just three pounds each, Thatcher and Bear pulled through and are currently at Ahimsa Haven Animal Shelter, and seek a fur-ever home. Their adoption fee is sponsored. When you adopt a pet from a shelter, you know you are getting a healthy pet. Visit ahimsahaven.org to fill out an application, and visit “Ahimsa Haven” on Facebook to see more wonderful pets.
Sally Cragin writes about pet issues and is the director of Be PAWSitive Therapy Pets and Community Education. Text/Call for more information; reach out to shelters directly.
