TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. — This week’s Pet of the Week focuses on the Tehama County Animal Care Centerand some senior dogs they’re looking after.
The center said they’re in dire need of foster homes for their senior dogs and a great many more dogs they took in after the Park Fire.
Hundreds of animals are staying with them beyond the hundred-plus they had before the Park Fire. The center said they’re way beyond capacity and the animals there are stressed, cramped and at a high risk of infections like kennel cough.
If you are capable of offering a home or even just some time away from the shelter, they said it would help immensely. These dogs need a break away from the stress of the shelter. If you want to help, you can contact theTehama County Animal Care Center at (530) 527-3439 to be a hero for one of those dogs.
They also have many senior dogs looking for love. They sayit’s heartbreaking to see the senior dogs confusion as they have a much harder time in the shelter.
If you don’t have room in your home, even temporarily, but have room in your heart you can always donate supplies, food or funds.
