Top dog trainer launches Australia’s ‘best’ handmade dog toy

Chris Loverseed knows dogs.

Head trainer at Melbourne’s largest dog training company, Positive K9 Training, he’s seen, and trained, it all.

But during the 14 years Positive K9 has been operating, Chris and his colleagues noticed a gap in the market for high quality training equipment and toys.

It was a gap Chris was keen to fill, and he has created and headed up a new company, PK9 Gear.

With a mission to provide dog owners and trainers with Australian-made, durable and eco-friendly products that enhance the training experience, one of its new collections is already a winner.

The collection showcases a range of handcrafted flirt poles, which are exercise and training tools you can use with your dog.

The flirt pole looks a bit like a fishing rod and is made up of a strong handle with a lure or attractive material at the end of an attached piece of rope.

Designed to drag and jump around in front of your pet, it’s guaranteed to get them interested and on their feet.

Unlike other flirt poles on the market, the PK9 Gear ones are eco-friendly and use natural Australian materials.

They feature luxurious sheepskin, cow and roo hides, elegant suede, and robust climbing rope, ideal for dog lovers seeking a blend of quality, sustainability and unique craftsmanship.

Your dog will love it too, with a flirt pole providing a great way to give them both physical and mental exercise.

It also teaches coordination, as dogs learn how to track down a moving object and it’s a great tool for teaching impulse control.

For pups, the flirt poles are great as it means you can play with your dog without your hands being close to their keen-to-bite mouths and teeth.

Even better, to celebrate their launch, PK9 Gear is giving an exclusive 10 per cent discount for a limited period on their flirt poles.

Those who have already invested are completely sold and the reviews are super positive.

“Great exercise for the dog, and me!” said one.

“Smooth Collie’s eyes light up when he sees the new Flirt Pole come outside to play.

‘I am appreciating the upper body strengthening from the weight of the leather tug attachment and my happy pup only stops chasing the straps when he actually needs a rest — he’s never bored with it!”

“Premium Flirt Pole,” said another.

“Product is great quality and we love using it with our German Shepherd. She has a great time chasing it and it’s very strong and well made which is important for our strong dog.”
