A Colorado Uber driver has become a viral sensation after posting videos of his dog interacting with passengers.
COLORADO, USA — A Colorado dog has become an overnight celebrity after his owner started bringing him to work as his co-pilot.
Kevin Ferman has been an Uber driver for close to a decade, but decided to start bringing his dog, Bowie, along for the ride last year.
“Colorado’s such a dog-friendly place, so I knew people would like it,” he said.
Bowie’s charm, paired with the surprise of finding a furry friend in the front seat, quickly won hearts and racked up social media views.
Ferman started sharing videos of Bowie’s Uber adventures online, capturing priceless reactions from passengers.
“Guys, we have an Uber dog,” one passenger exclaims in a now-viral clip. “This is way better than, like, anything,” gushes another.
At first, the videos garnered only modest attention, but in April 2024, Ferman says the YouTube algorithm worked its magic.
“The craziest thing happened,” Ferman said. “It started getting tens of thousands of views overnight.”
Today, Bowie, affectionately known as “The Uber Dog,” boasts hundreds of thousands of followers across social media. Fans eagerly await the next video featuring Bowie’s backseat admirers.
“If we’re picking up from bars late at night, a typical reaction is like, ‘Oh. My. God.,’” Ferman said.
College students, missing their own pets, are especially thrilled.
“It just makes their day,” he added.
Bowie’s fame shines brightest near the University of Colorado Boulder campus, where he’s somewhat of a local celebrity.
“Sometimes I wonder if he knows that he’s kind of famous,” Ferman said with a laugh.
In a state where most dogs are treated like royalty, Bowie still manages to stand out.
“It’s such a simple thing, but it really does make people’s day,” Ferman said.
