A civil judge hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly has allegedly claimed that his pet dog was stolen from his house. The family has accused their neighbour, Dumpy Ahmed of stealing their dog.
A case was registered by the police against more than two dozen individuals under the Animal Cruelty Act, following a complaint lodged by the judge’s family.
The judge’s family stays at Suncity colony in Bareilly, however the judge is currently posted in Hardoi.
According to the FIR, the judge’s family and Ahmed’s family had got into an argument a few days ago.
As per the claims made by the judge’s family, Ahmed’s son, Qadir Khan, who also resides in the same colony had allegedly threatened to kill them.
On the night of May 16, Ahmed’s wife allegedly went to the judge’s residence and demanded to have a conversation with them. According to an India Today report, the woman was angry with the family as their dog had allegedly attacked her along with her daughter.
She reportedly shouted at the family saying, “Don’t you know, my daughter and I were attacked?,” A long argument allegedly ensued over the matter.
After knowing about the incident, the judge immediately called the Bareilly Police from Lucknow and briefed them about the entire incident over the phone. He also filed a complaint on the matter.
As per the area officer, Anita Chauhan’s instructions to take legal action, the police began their search for the judge’s dog.
The judge’s family, however refused to make any comment in front of the media, about the whole incident.
