Events/Other Topics: Interested in Volunteering? Come to Dakin’s Volunteer Fair on May 1:

Are you thinking about doing some volunteer work to help Dakin, but not sure what you’d like to do? We need volunteers in a variety of positions – some with hands-on tasks related to animals (walking dogs, tending to cats), some that are equally important but may not involve handling animals (event assistance, thrift shop shifts, serving as a greeter). We’re seeking people who can make a weekly commitment to offering their help.

To give interested people a snapshot view of the many volunteer opportunities at Dakin, we’re presenting the Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, May 1 from 3 pm to 5pm at Dakin Humane Society at 171 Union Street in Springfield. Participants will get the chance to “table hop” and speak to about a half dozen Dakin staff and volunteers who will talk about their departments and what kinds of tasks are involved.
